The blobfish (Psychrolutes marcidus) is a deep sea fish of the family Psychrolutidae. It inhabits the deep waters off the coasts of mainland Australia and Tasmania, as well as the waters of New Zealand.[1]
Blobfish are typically shorter than 30 cm (12 in) and weighs for approximately 20 pounds. They live at depths between 600 and 1,200 m (2,000 and 3,900 ft) where the pressure is 60 to 120 times as great as at sea level, which would likely make gas bladders inefficient for maintaining buoyancy.[1] That makes them not having bladders but soft bones. Instead, the flesh of the blobfish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a density slightly less than water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming. Its relative lack of muscle is not a disadvantage as it primarily swallows edible matter that floats in front of it such as deep-ocean crustaceans.[2

Above water, the blob fish looks like jelly and very fatty. Just like its name, it is literally a blob above water. Though, under water, in its natural habitat, 4000 ft under water where the pressure is 120 times greater, it might as well look like a normal fish, well structured, and not blobby.

The blob fish are not very active in terms of movement. It is caused by their muscle and bones which are less and weaker than other fishes.
The blob fish feeds on small fishes, small crabs, mollusks, and sea urchins. The blob fish lives for about 140 years. This might be caused by having no predators, and if they do, they wont be a delight or even edible because they are mainly consist of gelatinous fat covering their entire body.
The blob fish lays 9000 eggs at a time but only a few survive. After they hatch, they turn into an invertabrate blob and then they grow bigger and turn into an adult blob fish.

The blob fish are endangered species and it is believed that there are only 420 blob fishes in the world. They are sometimes caught on trawling nets. So from now on, let's protect our Blobby friend!

questions:
1.Is the blob fish edible?
2. Where can you find the blob fish?
3. How do blob fish reproduce?
4. what does the blob fish do?
5. why is the blob fish blobby?
